Biography: D.A Sullivan

Debbie Sullivan - Wildlife ArtistThere a few loves greater in Debbie Sullivan's life than wildlife and art and her talent to combine the two into her own unique style sends shivers down your spine.

Her canvasses are alive with the colour and vibrancy of nature's creatures that dare you to keep them confined to their frames. To have one of Debbie Sullivans' exceptional images in your home is akin to having your own slice of nature within your grasp forever. Why go outdoors when you can have your own pride of lions, or your own piece of history in a majestic Clydesdale to admire at your own leisure.

Since moving to Western Australia, Debbie's considerable talent has come to the notice of public and private collectors alike and she has won the coveted 'Best Rural Artist' award twice.

The demand for this talented artist continues proving that this young lady is one of Western Australia's best kept secrets and that people recognise her own individual style and consummate ability to bring nature within the reach of everyone.

Debbie Sullivan originates from Melbourne, where she learnt, from a very young age to look, absorb and enjoy nature in all its wonderous guises.

Predominately working with wildlife, Debbie's passion for horses shines in her work capturing these animals, particularly the gentle giants of the equine world - the Clydesdale. Debbie's equine art has received numerous awards and is found in the collection of the Commonwealth Clydesdale Horse Association President WA, the Lake Grace Shire, and the past president of the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia, to name just a few.

Debbie Sullivan's fascination with art and all of its facets resulted in a degree in Graphic Design in 1993, the University also purchasing a piece of her work for their collection. Her career as a wildlife artist began on the completion of her course in 93'. In the same year Debbie joined the "Wildlife Art Society of Australasia"and went on to become a councillor, her association with WASA continues to this day.

In May 1997, Debbie had the chance to combine her love of nature, her artistic ability and her special rapport with people when she took on the wardens position at 'Eyre Bird Observatory', an isolated 100year old telegraph station situated where the Great Australian Bight joins Australia's 'Nullabor Plain. Debbie was in her element! From the smallest marsupial to the might of the Southern Right Whale, it was all there right on her doorstep.

She wasted no time in capturing all of Eyres' treasures on canvas and film. Basking in the atmosphere and special surroundings that only Eyre can provide, resulted in many precious experiences that have provided a wealth of reference that has found it's way into many collections via Debbie easel.

Debbie Sullivan's artwork is represented in Limited Edition Print and various other publications and are represented by:
